We are a church of people that have been changed by the power of God, we embrace the truth in scripture that says God has a plan for us that’s greater than our imagination.
Westernport Assembly of God is a contemporary church with an apostolic mission located along the Potomac River in the Appalachian Mountains town of Westernport, MD. Our congregation extends God's love to our local Tri-Towns community with a population of 3,100, and to a surrounding regional population of 11,800. Within a 30-minute drive from our church campus are two college universities and two community colleges, as well as two Christian schools. Deep Creek Lake is a Northeast recreational destination that is just 20 minutes away.
Our congregations meet on a debt-free campus in our 6,000 sq. ft. worship center with a sanctuary that can accommodate 240 attendees. Contemporary praise and worship are followed by a Pentecostal message, while out Children's Church leaders minister to our students every Sunday morning.
Our campus sits on 3 acres of land and is home to a 7,500 sq. ft. multi-purpose recreational G.A.M.E. center with a gymnasium and a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. The auxiliary building hosts many of our small group meetings and student events. An on-campus three-bedroom parsonage is provided for our lead pastor and family.
Visiting a new church can have lot’s of questions. That’s why we endeavor to walk you through your first day and make it special. Whenever we meet together we believe it’s a great opportunity to connect to Christ.
At First AG, there is no dress code. You’ll see some people in suits and others in jeans and a t-shirt. Wear whatever makes you comfortable! The pastor wears jeans on a regular basis, so relax and enjoy the service.
Our worship style can be described as wide open. We feel that young and old, everyone can connect with the creator of the universe. We desire to be a community that passionately worships together!
Our goal each and every weekend is to provide a safe place for your kids to grow and connect with other kids. God has a plan for your kids and it’s our pleasure to take great care of them while you have an amazing time of worship.
